Lindow Insurance supports equine-assisted therapy group with donation

American Advantage – Lindow Insurance Agency is donating $2,000 to LifeStriders, a Waukesha-based therapy setting that provides innovative and integrated cognitive and physical therapies to individuals and families with special needs.

Established on a horse farm in 2004, LifeStriders integrates experiential, nature-based activities (often on horseback) with occupational and physical therapies, counseling, coaching, youth programs, and other services. Thanks to the generous support of donors, LifeStriders was able to subsidize $500,000 of professional therapy services last year, providing families in need with sliding scale scholarships.

Jody Sadowske, a customer service representative with Lindow Insurance, nominated LifeStriders for consideration. Jody states the contribution is important because “it provides an opportunity for people with special needs to get exposure to an element they normally would not have access to.” 

As an equestrian herself, Jody appreciates the therapeutic benefits of caring for and riding horses; she also acknowledges the staggering cost of horse care. “Keeping an organization like this up and running smoothly is a huge undertaking, and any investment into their success pays off in the services that they are able to offer to the community.”

This donation represents an ongoing effort to contribute to local community organizations. Each quarter, Lindow Insurance will donate $2,000 to causes put forward by an employee nomination process.
