Plan for your Family’s Financial Future

Plan for your Family’s Financial Future

Happy belated Valentine’s Day!  I hope your sweetheart remembered to get you some nice flowers, candy or at least a card.  With February comes the aforementioned Valentine’s Day and it is also American Heart Association Month.  With hearts and love all around, we need to take a moment to discuss planning and life insurance. While nobody wants to talk about the possibility that something could happen to you, it is a topic that should be discussed and planned for.

Let’s just group all the difficult topics together and call it “planning” for the future. Obviously there are triggers and life events that cause you to plan, purchase a home, get married, have children, etc. All of these wonderful moments in life also come with additional responsibilities. To stay positive about this difficult topic, try not to think of it as a doomsday list but more as a conversation about the future. We have seen various degrees of planning in our agency’s clients and I can tell you with the utmost certainty that your loved ones will be taken care of in the even that the unthinkable might happen.

  • Create a will.
Having a will helps to clarify your wishes. It includes naming an executor who will handle your finances, guardians for your children if you have them, and it also allows you to decide who gets your property rather than leaving it up to the laws of the state you live in.
  • List your important documents and accounts.
If you are married, this is an important one. Something as simple as creating a list of bank information, investments and insurance policies will help tremendously in the event something happens to you. In most households, the responsibilities are shared and the other person may have no idea how to take over.
  • Establish a financial plan.
Life insurance can certainly help with the burden of living on one income.  There are many different kinds of life insurance policies that can help with whatever situation you might find yourself in. It’s also a good idea to review any investments that you have to make sure that everything is operating in sync.

We can certainly help you with the financial piece and create relationships with people that can provide a comprehensive plan when it’s needed. Our main focus at Lindow Insurance is to make sure that you have everything put together in a manner that will protect the legacy of your family. It’s the same thing we are trying to do in your liability protection on the home, auto and business insurance – keeping you covered and protected for the unexpected life events. Thank you again for that opportunity.

All the best,

Jon
